Is there a system that answers WhatsApp messages automatically?
Yes. On the official WhatsApp Business Platform (API) an incoming message lands in your own system and the reply goes out from there, which means the reply can be written by software. Avteza does this in Azerbaijani: it answers the repeating questions about prices, opening hours and delivery, creates orders and bookings inside the conversation, and hands a question it does not know to your team rather than inventing an answer.
There are two WhatsApps, and the decision turns on which one
Meta ships two different products under that name, and confusing them costs more time than anything else here. The first is the free WhatsApp Business app on a phone: one number, a business profile, a catalogue, labels, quick replies and a greeting message. A person answers the conversations and there is no connection to any other software.
The second is WhatsApp Business Platform, the official API. The message arrives in your system, the reply goes out from there, and several people can work from the same number. Automatic answering is only a conversation about the second one.
The practical difference is this: the free app’s greeting sends everyone the same sentence. It does not know what the question was, and it does not need to. An assistant on the API reads the question and takes the answer from what you wrote down.
What actually gets answered
The repeating question is where most of the value is. Opening hours, the address, the delivery charge, what is on the menu, what a service costs. Those are written facts, and written facts are the thing software does not forget. A "are you open tomorrow?" arriving at one in the morning is answered that minute rather than the next morning.
Second are orders and bookings. The assistant shows the menu in the conversation, builds the basket, takes the address and puts the order in your dashboard. If your payment provider is connected it sends the payment link there too. For a booking it checks what is free, confirms a suitable time and handles the cancellation itself.
Third, and often the most valuable, is the handover. When the assistant does not know, it does not invent: it passes the conversation to your team and flags it in your dashboard as waiting. The same happens when a customer asks for a person.
Then there is the language itself. Real messages are not tidy: people write "zakaz", cut a word short, misspell things and mix two languages in one sentence. The assistant accepts that, because a customer is not going to write correctly for your benefit.
What does not get answered
It does not answer phone calls. We are working on a voice agent that answers calls. We are not writing down when it will be ready, because we do not know.
It does not turn a voice message into text. A voice message appears in the conversation and the customer is asked to send the question in writing.
There is no SMS channel. There are four channels: WhatsApp, Instagram Direct, Telegram and the chat window on your website.
There is no integration with a till system, 1C or any other accounting software. The order lands in the dashboard and is not written into your till, so you move it across yourself.
Meta’s 24-hour window
This is not our rule but Meta’s, and it applies to everyone equally. Once a customer writes to you, a 24-hour window of free-form messaging opens. When the window closes you may only write to that person using a pre-approved template.
One consequence follows, and it is worth knowing in advance: the "let me send whatever comes to mind to the customer who wrote last week" plan does not work. That is exactly why booking reminders go out as an approved template.
A reply to an incoming message is inside the window, so the main job of automatic answering is untouched by this limit.
You keep your own number
We connect your existing business number through the WhatsApp Business API and the number stays registered to you. There is no new number to buy.
That connection becomes possible after Meta business verification. Meta runs that stage, not us, so we do not write down how long it takes. Telegram and the website chat wait on no verification.
Instagram Direct goes through the same Meta verification and works with your existing account.
The cost has two parts
The first is the software you use. Avteza’s plans are 79, 199 and 449 ₼ per month; on annual billing the same plans come to 63, 159 and 359 ₼ per month.
The second is what Meta charges for the official channel. We do not put a figure here, because a written figure goes stale and the way it is calculated changes from time to time. Before deciding, look at the current rates in Meta’s own documentation and add the software charge on top.
Short answers
- Can I use my own WhatsApp number?
- Yes. We connect your existing business number through the WhatsApp Business API and the number stays registered to you. This becomes possible after Meta business verification.
- How is this different from the free WhatsApp Business app?
- The free app has one number, a person answers the conversations, and the greeting sends everyone the same sentence. Avteza collects WhatsApp, Instagram Direct, Telegram and the website chat into one list, answers questions itself in Azerbaijani, Russian and English, and creates orders and bookings inside the conversation. If you answer one number yourself, the free app is enough.
- What happens when the assistant does not know the answer?
- It does not invent one. It passes the conversation to your team and it is flagged in your dashboard as waiting. You can read every conversation from the dashboard and write yourself at any moment.
- What happens to a voice message?
- A voice message appears in the conversation and the customer is asked to send the question in writing. Turning it into text is being worked on.
- Who can see the conversations?
- Only the users you have added to your organisation. Each conversation is visible only to the organisation it belongs to, and access is limited by the user’s role.
